MCS middle school students learn about God and service from special chapel visitor

USC wide receiver and MCS alum Robbie Boyer talks during middle school chapel.

MCS students were treated to a talk by Robbie Boyer, a USC Trojan wide receiver who is the cousin of USC superstar quarterback Matt Barkley. Both Robbie and Matt are Mariners Christian School alums.

Robbie, who lives in Newport Beach, told the students about how important God is in his life. He also taught them about service to God and others.

According to the USC Trojans website, he was named to the 2007 Cal-Hi Sports All-State third team, Super Prep All-Farwest, All-CIF Pac-5 first team, Orange County Register All-Orange County first team and All-Trinity League first team as a senior wide receiver at Mater Dei High in Santa Ana (Calif.)…He had 57 catches for 1,033 yards (18.1 avg.) and 14 touchdowns in 2007. As a junior in 2006, he made Cal-Hi Sports All-State Underclass and All-Trinity League as he had 39 receptions for 620 yards (15.9 avg.) with 3 TDs. He also sprinted on Mater Dei’s track team.
